E-180 raises $400k to market Braindater app
Good news for learning humans worldwide! The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced last week that E-180, Inc. would be among the eight interactive media companies receiving marketing support as part of the first round of its 2015-2016 Experimental Stream funding.
The $400,000 investment – the highest amount awarded in this round – will fund the marketing and promotion of E-180’s Braindater application. Described as « Tinder for Knowledge », Braindater reveals the human knowledge available in a specific space or event, and instantly connects people for one-on-one meetups (« Brain Dates ») based on what they are looking to learn or share.
Soft-launched at the 2015 edition of C2 Montréal last May, the Braindater app as since been used by participants of the International Startup Festival and is now available to members of the Montréal’s École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) community. The official launch (and deployment of full-fledged marketing efforts) will happen by the end of 2015, once Braindater’s capacity is extended to simultaneously support more events and spaces.
