Both E-180 cofounders mentoring hackathons for a good cause
What happens when developers, designers, business people and stakeholders get together over a weekend to focus on a pressing social issue? They get things done. One might even say the world becomes a slightly better place.
This is the stuff hackathons are made of, and it so happens both of our co-founders will be acting as mentors in such events this February.
E-180 CTO Alexandre Spaeth has been invited to mentor students at the 2014 Annual NYUAD International Hackathon for Social Good in the Arab World, while E-180 CEO Christine Christine will be spreading her contagious positive energy at Hacking Health Montreal.
2014 Annual NYUAD International Hackathon for Social Good in the Arab World
February 14-16, 2014, New York University in Abu Dhabi (NYUAD)
Organized by NYUAD, this event aims to promote innovation in computer science, tech startups and the development of innovative technology for the social good, in the form of mobile and web applications. Student teams are mentored by academics and professionals: among others, our very own Alexandre will get the chance to share ideas with fellow decision-making geeks from all over the world, including Google, Foursquare and Microsoft.
Hacking Health Montreal
February 21-23 at Ste-Justine Hospital, Montreal
Hacking Health holds hackathons in cities around the world in order to yield innovative approaches in health care. Christine, who holds health issues particularly dear to her heart, will be acting as a mentor during the Montreal event this February, which aims to create solutions for « Improving the health of mothers, children, and their clinics and hospitals ».
If you intend on being in Montreal that weekend and are a developer, designer, health care professional, or are simply interested in observing the process and giving back to our health care system, do join in the fun! Simply register by February 21st here on the event website.
