E-180 will present a Core conversation at the 2013 SXSW Interactive Festival!
Thanks to all your votes, E-180 was selected to lead a Core conversation along side with the Mozilla Open badge project at the 2013 SXSW Interactive Festival, one of the world’s most attended gathering for interactive and social media professionals. From the 3500 workshops proposals submitted, only 400 were selected. Ours was among the lucky ones:
How much of what you are using on a day-to-day basis actually comes from your school years? How much comes from the people you meet, the workshops you attend, the work you do? According to the New Approaches to Lifelong Learning (NALL), over 95% of adults were involved in some form of explicit informal learning that they identified as significant and 56% of the workforce develops most of its competencies by discussing informally with their peers.
Transforming education isn’t just redesigning our schools: it’s also about completely reimagining the way we define and implement education. How can we use social technology to foster peer-learning and to recognize knowledge acquisition regardless of where it takes place?
Based on the case studies of the Mozilla Open Badge project and E-180, attendees will be invited to share their own experiences, challenges and solutions on the use of social technologies to improve and scale informal learning opportunities for us all.
We are so grateful for all the support you guys provided, by voting, commenting or encouraging us!
See you in Austin!
